This one's finally done! This was supposed to be a weekend mini project... Then a 1-month project to learn a *few* new things... Theeeeen it took over a year. π¬
Keeping with tradition, it's a game where you launch little ragdoll guys at stuff. I went for more polish all around this time, with shaders, textures, models, and an honest-to-goodness pause menu. It's absolutely still very rough around the edges and "just a side project digital toy." But the foundation is set for the next mini project, which hopefully doesn't take another year to finish. (Hint: π)
I've always wanted to make a cliff diving game. ...actually I already did. Here's a screen from it:
It was my first ever Unity project, a full decade ago. But that had no physics and was just a mini learning thing. I've always wanted to do a better diving game—especially because it gives a long and interesting freefall to try out the full physics control I put in my games. You flip/twist in all directions, then mix that with various poses to see how it affects the flip rotation. Like I mention in the game description, this is literally what I'd do with action figures as a kid: put it into a pose, toss it into the air with an initial pitch/roll/yaw, and see how the flip would change. Now we can do that same thing with this interactive digital toy. π€ΈββοΈ
Have fun sending it!
